Wheel within a Wheel 116, Acrylic, 40 in x 40 in, 2018

Wheel within a Wheel 116 is complete following the adjustments I outlined in my prior post.   The new design elaborated further on an initial composition (see prior image below) that I had pictured in my “mind’s eye.”

Currently, I am painting a design inspired by my study of roses for my meditation garden.  The image itself works with geometries that have a universal appeal.  In my reading for the painting, I found that a meditative quality is evident in its application as found in Mandalas and in the rosette windows of Gothic churches.
