Following some meditation and conversations over the title to use for this new series focused on my growing fascination with water, ultimately, I chose Elan Flow as the most original and appropriate for this particular space of creative discovery.

Elan, as a term, has a compelling proposition attached to its definition. It references zeal and enthusiasm. Its combination with Flow, as smooth and ease in unfolding, addressed the spontaneous and uncontrollable potentiality of Water’s passageways.

Life is continually symbolically and metaphorically connected to Water. Both are imbued with Zest in my title as a concept. Water and Life have a boundless capacity for energy.

Zest, in my creative perspective, is characteristic of Life and Water’s unfolding. For Life to unfold and manifest, it draws from properties inherent in Water. Elan Flow ultimately hit the nerve of my current sensibilities while painting.
