At my studio space, I have been working on three paintings.
One is a continuation of the earlier panel series that I had begun last year.
I am continuing to work with the circular intertwining design that allows each individual design to form a part of a larger overarching composition.
My second painting continues with a previous exploration of the natural symmetry of crystals.
In this case, I decided to re-create a configuration that includes visual aspects (and optical effects) of Opt-Art. The following composition is an anticipated design plan for the overall painting which is a current project.
My third painting is part of the “Wheel within a Wheel” series. Here, I’ll include an example of an initial drafting schematic outlining process that I follow to prepare for my paintings.
I’ll include more updates on the paintings’ progress.
I love the natural symmetry of crystals in painting number two in your studio. I not only like the crystal shapes, which are very dynamic, but I like the “visual vortex” in between the crystals that reminds me of wheel within the wheel number 50.

I really like the natural symmetries of crystals in your work. Also, the “visual vortex” in between the crystals reminds me of wheel within a wheel number 50. Great works, Lorien!

Thank you, Daniel! I am intrigued by these new (for me) geometries.
