Over the last set of months, a number of developments have begun to take form that are related in large part to my art-studio practice.
As I’ve mentioned in prior posts, I have adopted a practice of contemplative prayer and meditation both as a personal spiritual journey and as an artist’s creative discipline.
The Panel project I’ve mentioned earlier is based on such a form of meditation, in this case it is on a theme addressed by Teilhard de Chardin:
“The success of humanity’s evolution will not be determined by ‘survival of the fittest’ but by our own capacity to converge and unify.” Teilhard de Chardin, Phenomenon of Man
I am arriving at an elaboration of a varying set of aspects of a design’s reality and how these can be brought together simultaneously in a unifying and differentiated compositional structure. I am considering these concepts – on a creative and visual field – as an artist.
This is my initial set of eight panels, now completed. I will add more to the series in the coming months.
IN my next post, I will look at the scarves I am working on in my studio. I am making these scarves and neckties with the idea of creating a design collection “Geometric Botanicals” with its own distinctive style. You can visit my shop at Etsy – https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeometricBotanicals
For my comprehensive knowledge of your body of artworks, this is one of my favorites…one of your best! I really like the multiple panel/grouping approach to presentation.
